WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: The Halloween reboot-sequel repreats atop the chart with 32MM on a 58 percent drop, due in part to the lack of competition in the frame. The 40th anniverary edition of the franchise will likely wither after Halloween itself, and continue dropping steeply next weekend. But that will still be well over 150MM on a 10MM production budget. A Star Is Born places again in its fourth weekend, with another 14.1MM on a leggy 26 percent drop. Venom shows again with 10.8MM on a 40 percent drop as it cracks 500MM worldwide. Goosebumps 2 takes the fourth slot in its third weekend with 7.5MM on a leggy pre-holiday drop of 23 percent, but at 38MM so far, it still looks to fall considerably short of the original's 80MM domestic haul. The debut of Hunter Killer rounds out the Top Five with 6.7MM against a reported 40MM production budget, perhhaps suggesting why it sat on a shelf for a year or so.

STAR WARS: Disney / Lucasfilm is no longer moving forward with a Boba Fett movie for the time being.
