WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Solo repeats atop the chart, but with 29.3MM on a 65 percent drop. That percentage wouldn't be a disaster in a post-holiday weekend, if the holiday weekend hadn't been so weak.  Now it looks like this franchise spinoff might not clear 200MM domestic, which would be less in its entire run than the opening weekends of Episodes VII and VIII. The R-rated Deadpool 2 was serious competition, placing with 23.3MM; its overseas grosses almost guarantee a third installment if Ryan Reynolds wants to do one.  The debut of Adrift shows with11.5MM, which slightly beat projections, but is iffy against a 35MM production budget.  Avengers: Infinity War takes the fourth slot with another 10.4MM; its overall performance may ease the pain of Solo for Disney, but expectations are expectations. Book Club rounds out the Top Five with 6.8MM on a leggy 32 percent drop, with a 47MM total against a reported 10MM budget.
