THE DRUMS: "Forever and Ever, Amen" is a nice jumpstart to a summer week.

BONNAROO: NPR was all over it, so there are sets from the Flaming Lips, The National, Dead Weather, the Avett Bros., Mumford & Sons, the Postellesthe Dodos, Mayer Hawthorne and more streaming on demand.

DEVO is streaming Something For Everybody via Colbert Nation (check the sidebar).

GORILLAZ stopped by the World Cafe for a chat and mini-set.

CLEM SNIDE stopped by Oregon Public Broadcasting for a chat and mini-set in audio and video.

TOTO: "Hold the Line." Guilty pleasure.

TRAGIC MAGIC: REFLECTIONS ON POWER POP - an essay by author Michael Chabon, built around Big Star, but hitting a lot of notes. (Thx, Chromewaves.)

LOU REED talks to the Jewish Chronicle about Metal Machine Music. He's contentious... shocka! (Thx, LHB.)

MOUNTAIN GOATS: The Salt Lake Tribune talks to Peter Hughes and gets e-mail from John Darnielle.

LOS CAMPESINOS! Gareth talks to PopMatters about God, songwriting, death, and growing up.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: The Karate Kid wins the weekend with 56 million on a 40 million budget. That's way above the 30-35 million the tracking numbers suggested going into the weekend, and much bigger than a lot of would-bes like Prince of Persia and Sex & the City 2. Apparently, families were ready to move on from Shrek. The A-Team underperforms almost as much as Kaarate Kid overperformed, coming in second with a mere 26 million on a 110 million budget (and a similar 35 million tracking number).  Shrek Forever After finally drops from the top slot to the third, with 15.8 million, showing the boost that hangining on to those 3-D screens provides.  Toy Story 3's arrival Friday could be devastating to the ogre.  Get Him to the Greek drps to the fourth slot with 10.1 million; it will likley fall short of Forgetting Sarah Marshall's total, while costing a bit more to make.  Killers rounds out the Top Five (probably undeservedly so) with 8.1 million.

GARY COLEMAN: A third will has surfaced -and in it, the actor leaves everything to a mystery woman.

CHARLIE SHEEN is going to have a hard time nabbing the plea deal he thought he was getting, because the sheriff ain't budging.

TIGER WOODS has been spotted with a beautiful blonde - not his wife - for a second time, according to RadarOnline.

LINDSAY LOHAN's assistant just quit, citing exhaustion.

JANUARY JONES (Mad Men) struck some parked cars, but cops say no crime was committed.

ANGELINA JOLIE as Cleopatra? Makes sense to me.

OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL: Sam Raimi has been offered the director's chair for Disney's prequel to the classic.

SAUDI ARABIA has conducted tests to stand down its air defences to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran's nuclear facilities, according to The Times of London.

IRAN's nuclear chief says his country will begin construction of a new uranium enrichment plant by March of next year, a defiant announcement days after the UN approved tougher sanctions. Russia has frozen the sale of S-300 air defense missiles to Iran. Factional infighting fuelled by a series of splits since the vote was exposed as rigged last year have come to a head with a row over an attack on attack on the family of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of Iran's Islamic revolution.

PAKISTAN: Support for the Taliban in Afghanistan is officially sanctioned at the highest levels of Pakistan's government, according to the Sunday Times.

FAT JOE is looking to slim down and find a home.

THE TARANTULA COCKTAIL: Big in Cambodia.

COW SEDUCES INDONESIAN MAN: Oh, sure.,. blame the victim.

A TOAD has undergone extraordinary life-saving surgery after it was accidentally stabbed with a garden fork.

CALVIN KLEIN: Obsession for Jaguars?
