EVERCLEAR: "A.M. Radio." Because my brother's Pinto said so.

DON EVERLY, the elder of the two Everly Brothers, the groundbreaking duo whose fusion of Appalachian harmonies and a tighter, cleaner version of big-beat rock ’n’ roll made them harbingers of both folk-rock and country-rock, died on Saturday at his home in Nashville. He was 84. If you're not an NYT subscriber, here's "Cathy's Clown," “When Will I Be Loved,” "All I Have to Do Is Dream," and "Bye Bye Love." And more on the brothers' influence at The Guardian.

TOM T. HALL, one of the great storytellers in country music, died on Friday at age 85.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Free Guy repeats atop the chart with 18.8MM on a mere 34 percent decline, an amazing hold for the pandemicPaw Patrol placed with 13MM, as family flicks continue to bring people to the big screens.  Jungle Cruise showed with 6.2MM on another solid hold, in this case a 31 percent decline.

DENIS VILLENUEVE backs SCARLETT JOHANSSON in her lawsuit against Disney, which has predictably moved into a dispute about the arbitration clause in her contract (it was obvsly in ScarJo's interest to try to make this dispute as public as possible).
