NORTH KOREA:  Progress has been made on what North Korea will receive from the US in exchange for disclosing its nuclear activities, negotiators have said.

IRAN:  An Iranian court gave a two-year suspended sentence to a former senior nuclear negotiator who had been accused by Pres. Ahmadinejad of spying for the West.

IRAQ:  Interior Ministry forces have started their search for unauthorized weapons in Basra on Wednesday, a security spokesman said.  The marines of India Battery of the 3rd Battalion, 11th Regiment are fighting what they call the last insurgent stronghold in Anbar Province.  Iraqi police on Wednesday arrested a senior militant and close aide of AQI chief Abu Ayyub al-Masri in western Iraq's Anbar province, the provincial police chief said.
