WEEKEND BOX OFFICE:  Super 8 takes the top slot with 37 million, which looks like a potentially big payoff against a 37 million budget. The studio thought this would come in at 20-30 million.  A pause between blockbusters, but a healthy one.  X-Men: First Class drops a notch with 25 million.  The 55 percent drop is not unusual for a blockbuster (and less than the last to X-movies), but the studio likely hoped for better, given the good reviews and word-of-mouth for the 60s-era mutants. The Hangover Part II showed with 18.5 million onl a reasonable 41 percent drop.  Kung Fu Panda 2 was not far behind with 16.6 million on a 30 percent drop -- but there's still a big difference between making 216.5 million on an 80 million budget (Hangover Pt II) and making 127 million on a 150 million budget (Panda).  Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger tides rounds out the Top 5 with another 10.8 million. It's is a long shot to match its 250 million production budget in Norrth America, but the 615 million overseas haul guarantees more Capt. Jack Sparrow.
