THE WEEKEND STARTS HERE:
… with VALENTINE'S DAY: I've never been a big Valentine's Day guy, but I have always liked The Replacements' "Valentine" and Elvis Costello's cover of "My Funny Valentine." Beyond that, my thoughts typically drift to the Velvet Underground's "I'll Be Your Mirror," The Beatles' "In My Life," and the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows." I think it's probably very difficult to write a straight-ahead, universal love song, and these three are great.
MJ LENDERMAN, Live at the 40 Watt Club. New material and covers too.
ANDREW BIRD shares "Need Someone."
CUT WORMS shares "Dream."
THE NOTWIST shares "Projectors."
JAMES BLAKE shares “I Had a Dream She Took My Hand.”
HEAVENLY shares "Scene Stealing."
LAIBACH shares "Allgorhythm."
MORRISSEY: Not the Master of His Domain.
JAMES VAN DER BEEK: Hear from his first wife, and Katie Holmes.
ZOE SALDANA made a very generous donation to Van Der beek's surviving family. As did Spielberg.
