LINDSAY LOHAN's probation has been revoked and a bench warrant issued for her arrest. Word is her second failed drug test involved amphetamines. Friends say she finally gets it, perhaps because she is in desperate financial shape.

THE FRENCH HOTEL cops her plea and tells friends she wants to "trade in the club scene for a life at home."

THE BLACK ANGELS have a classic garage-psych feel on "Telephone."

SUPERCHUNK played DC's 9:30 Club Friday night; you can stream the gig on demand now.

LOS LOBOS stopped by the World Cafe for a chat and mini-set.

TRENT REZNOR has posted a five track sampler from The Social Network soundtrack.

J. TILLMAN (Fleet Foxes) covers Neil Young's Tonight's The Night album.  Check the comments, too.

JIMI HENDRIX died 40 years ago Saturday, and I feel a bit bad about not making him the Friday Feature.  Billboard has video of five amazing performances.  The Hendrix in Britain exhibition at the Handel House Museum in Mayfair opened.  Roger Mayer, the navy acoustics engineer who created sound effects for the giants of the 1960s rock scene, talks about Jimi's unique sound. THE MYNABIRDS: Laura Burhenn shuffled her iPod for the Boston Globe.

THE XX talks to All Things Considered about winning the Mercury Prize.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: The Town tops the chart with 23.8 million -- well above the 15 million or so gurus predicted, in a triumph for Ben Affleck as director and his strong supporting cast.  The Town should have no problem profiting on its 37 million budget.  Easy A has to settle for second with 18.2 million, but that's pretty darn good on an 8 million budget.  Devil shows with 12.6 million on a 10 million budget, though Universal reportedly paid 27 million to distribute it.  Resident Evil: Afterlife tumbled 62 percent to the No. 4 slot with 10.1 million.  Afterlife's 44 million against a 60 million budget looks tepid, until you remember it's already made almost as much overseas.  Alpha and Omega rounds out the Top Five with a floppy 9.2 million debut, which is even more disappointing when you consider there are no other kids' flicks in the Top Ten.

LINDSAY LOHAN failed multiple drug tests last week, which could derail her attempted comeback.  The actress is reportedly attending AA meetings and said on Twitter she's "working hard to overcome" her drug addiction.

THE FRENCH HOTEL has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanors in her drug-possession case - and she will be sentenced to a year of probation but no jail time.

RUSSELL BRAND was arrested for allegedly attacking paparazzi at LAX airport.

PENELOPE CRUZ & JAVIER BARDEM are indeed expecting a child.

RANDY & EVI QUAID were arrested Saturday afternoon on charges of felony burglary after the owner of their former home called police to say they were living there illegally.

MALIN ACKERMAN is profiled in Details.

JEREMY RENNER is profiled over at GQ. Fun fact: The Oscar nominee is not giving up on the home-renovation business that paid his rent when acting didn't.

IRAN: Ahmadinejad claimed that the IAEA gave "false" details on Iran's nuclear program.

IRAQ: One thing did not change after Pres. Obama declared an end to the US combat mission on Sept. 1: the size and role of American Special Operations forces there.

AFGHANISTAN: The UN has sent away about a third of its international employees, amid fears of violence during this weeks parliamentary elections.  NATO dismissed suggestions that the conflict in Afghanistan could be resolved by partitioning the country and handing over the Pashtun south to the Taliban, saying this was a recipe for civil war.
