JERRY LEIBER, the lyricist who, with his partner, Mike Stoller, wrote some of the most enduring classics in the history of rock 'n' roll, including "Hound Dog," "Jailhouse Rock," "Yakety Yak," "Love Potion No. 9," "There Goes My Baby," "Stand By Me," "On Broadway," and many more (and even more as producers) died of heart failure on Monday in Los Angeles. He was 78. The Biography Channel did a 43-minute documentary on Leiber & Stoller.
